Nearby Attractions in Mid-Coast Maine

The town of Cushing is secluded, yet in the midst of the excitment!  Cushing is perhaps the best place to start exploring Maine's 5,000 miles of coastline including it's numerous inlets, fishing villages and bays along with 2,000 islands. Locally Wyeth landscapes abound and with the Olson House and the Farnsworth Museum just a few miles from the cottage. Other nearby attractions are a ferry to Monhegan Island perhaps the most beautiful of Maine's islands. Great shops, restaurants, lighthouses and parks are a short distance away. Boating and swimming are also available along with lots of lobster. Other activities in the area are whale watching, puffin boat rides along with helicopter, glider and plane rides. Experience a cruise aboard one of Maine's historic windjammers and explore the islands and lighthouses. There are nearby lakes for swimming and boating. Mountains are at the edge of the sea for climbing.

Acadia Natl. Park, the nations second most popular park is about two hrs. away. New England's largest botanical coastal gardens is nearby.
