Nearby Attractions to Cove's Edge Vacation Rental

Cove's Edge vacation rental is the ideal place to spend a week exploring the Maine coast.  Our vacation rental by owner is located in the town of Cushing, which is secluded, yet in the midst of the excitement!  Nearby towns include the ever popular towns of Camden and Rockport, as well as Rockland.  Cushing is perhaps the best place to start exploring Maine's 5,000 miles of coastline including it's numerous inlets, fishing villages and bays along with 2,000 islands. Locally Wyeth landscapes abound and the Olson House and the Farnsworth Museum are just a few miles from the cottage. Other nearby attractions are a ferry to Monhegan Island perhaps the most beautiful of Maine's islands. Great shops, restaurants, lighthouses and parks are a short distance away. Boating and swimming are also available along with lots of lobster. Other activities in the area are whale watching, puffin boat rides along with helicopter, glider and plane rides. Experience a cruise aboard one of Maine's historic windjammers and explore the islands and lighthouses. There are nearby lakes for swimming and boating. Mountains are at the edge of the sea for climbing.

Ocean and River Kayaking is extremely popular in Maine.  It is possible to launch kayaks and canoes from our guest house and explore the major inlet of the Atlantic Ocean on which Cove's Edge is located.  Be sure to bring a camera to photograph the abundant wildlife including the many seals which can be seen in the cove.

Acadia Natl. Park, the nations second most popular park is about two hrs. away. New England's largest botanical coastal gardens is nearby.

Dining on the Mid-coast in Maine is outstanding. Enjoy the local seafood in an informal setting, sitting outdoors on a dock or choose an intimate setting in a sophisticated dining room that offers world-class cuisine. There are restaurants for every taste.
